Integral Flyovers
 

Integral Flyovers

Seven span continuous Integral Flyovers, having 190m long stilted portion, on Ring Road Intersection at Motinagar and near Panchcheel Club & Kalkaji Temple on Outer Ring Road. The superstructure is R.C.C voided slab type deck which is made integral (monolithic) with the piers. By providing monolithic connection the number of expansion joints and bearings has been kept to a minimum. This provides better riding quality and minimizes periodic maintenance problems associated with these element. The flyovers have been designed for high seismic forces (zone IV) as per the latest Indian standard.

Safdarjung-AIIMS Grade Separator, Delhi

To improve traffic congestion at the Safdarjung-AIIMS intersection, PWD, Delhi, commissioned the detailed engineering for all related structural elements and sub-elements of over-bridges, underpasses, pedestrian subways. The challenges posed by the project is finalising the geometrics within the physical constraints posed by the presence of a large number of underground and above-ground electrical cables, running water mains, railway over-bridge, permanent structures like police station, housing etc. The project consists of:

  1. One curved (110m radius) continuous 5-span bridge for a length of 122m resting on 111 nos 1.2m dia bored cast-in-situ piles
  2. One 17 degree 4-span skew bridge on Ring Road resting on pile foundations
  3. Two subways 9m wide and 100m long
  4. Three service culverts about 150m long
  5. Retaining Wall (1000m length) at different locations
  6. Two underpasses for a length of 18m and 8m wide
 
   
 
 


Dhaula Kuan Interchange, Delhi
 

Dhaula Kuan Interchange, Delhi

PWD, Delhi, commissioned the improvement of the intersection at Dhaula Kuan to cater to phenomenal growth in population and vehicular traffic . The assignment entails detailed engineering for all related structural elements and sub-elements of over-bridges, underpasses, pedestrian subways. The challenges posed by the project is finalising the geometrics within the physical constraints posed by the presence of a large number of underground and above-ground electrical cables, running water mains, railway over-bridge, permanent structures like police station, housing etc. The project consists of:

  1. Two bridges that cross Ring Road with 2 nos. 22m wide carriageway resting on open foundation
  2. One curved bridge for a length of 15m across Ring Road
  3. Retaining wall for a height of 1m to 6m for a length of 1000m
  4. Two commercial subways 9.3m wide and 52m long
  5. Two non-commercial subways for a length of 50m
  6. Four service culverts 3m wide with total length of 153m
  7. Two service culvert-cum-underpass for a length of 96m
  8. Two underpasses for a length of 63m
